Well. Last night I found out that our water heater is shit. It must have started leaking a few days ago, and the plumber that came out last night tried to fix it to no avail.
M tried to get me to call in sick today and stay home and replace the water heater. Funny, I'll spend close to $300 on a water heater and lose a day’s pay to install it... Not. I'll do it tonight after work and she can spend today mopping up.

Well, things went pretty well tonight getting the new water heater installed. There were a few hitches though. M decided to help out today and while she was in town she went to Lowes and picked up a new water heater. Unfortunately, she picked up the wrong one. But with a second trip to Lowes I got parts to make this one work.
It was no big deal, just that the one we needed had all its connections on the side and the one she picked up had its connections on the top. So I had to cut and extend all the lines to reach the top. So far everything is solid and no leaks. And we have hot water too!
It’s getting late and I need to hit the hay…

Water heaters, ugh dont go there LOL.....I am renting and it took the owners 6 months to replace mine and the only reason they did replace it was because it blew up one night....charming things, are water heaters....

Lucky for me I'm pretty handy with things like that! I was in the same boat once like you. When the floor rotted through and it fell out of the house is just before we moved out, and the landlord tried to get US to replace it! NOT!!
